May/June, 2009

Dear Friends of NAAM,

I am delighted to write to you as Board President of the Northwest African American Museum. I believe so strongly in this Museum and know that we have a great future ahead with your continued and inspiring support.

I have the pleasure of sharing wonderful news that the Museum recently received a $1,000,000 grant over five years from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to support Museum operating expenses and provide challenge grant opportunities. You can help us meet this year's Gates challenge grant of $100,000 now by donating to NAAM.

Like all Museums, donors provide the most substantive portion of our income resources. Heartfelt thanks go out to all who have contributed and I want to acknowledge the following people and organizations who have donated to NAAM since January of this year.

With all best wishes and I look forward to seeing you at NAAM soon!
