NAAM’s Interactive Story Time

It’s Story Time!

Tune in and read-along to our newest, culturally-relevant story.

On the 2nd Sunday of each month at 1pm, families can tune in and read-along to our newest, culturally-relevant story read aloud!

Fitz the Smoking Dragon is a book about a little boy with Asthma who discovers he has SUPERPOWERS!

Join NAAM, One Medical, and the Pacific Science Center for a very special Interactive story time! Tune in for the story reading, and stay for an interview with the 7-year-old author, a lesson from Dr. Jennie, and a science project with the Pacific Science Center team!

In this book, Fitz takes you through his very first Asthma attack, hospital stay, a follow-up doctor’s office visit, his return to school, and his return to his favorite sport, soccer! Fitz hopes to show young people that a diagnosis of Asthma does not have to end your fun or cause them fear or anxiety! The goal of this book is to show young people how to turn their fear or anxiety about their new treatment and diagnosis into empowerment and courage so that they may be more inclined to cooperate with their treatment regimens and ultimately minimize Asthma attacks and decrease fatalities related to this childhood disease.

On the 2nd Sunday of each month, at 1pm, families can tune in and read-along to our newest, culturally-relevant story read aloud!
