About the Exhibit

Welcome to Bold as Love: Jimi Hendrix at Home. Most people know Jimi Hendrix as an unequivocally gifted rock icon who changed the world of music forever, but few recognize his humble beginnings. black, Native American, and international, all at the same time. Jimi’s infatuation with music began at an early age as a Seattle native. This exhibition looks at how his Seattle upbringing shaped his life and career, giving definition to an art form the world would embrace. Through archival and family photos, his own artwork, personal artifacts, music, and multimedia, this exhibition takes you in to the life of James Marshall “Jimi” Hendrix.
